Camden on Canvas will look a little different this year: instead of a live auction ending a weekend of plein air painting, we’re trying out a silent auction format. The event name is Art in the Stacks and the bidding will take place online from July 20th – August 3rd while the artwork is displayed in the library; there will be a reception to celebrate our library and the arts on Sunday, August 3rd. The pool of about 30 well-known local artists will encompass more styles than just plein air paintings, and we’re showcasing smaller pieces of art (great for those with less wall space!), and hoping to capture folks (like Camden visitors!) wherever they are, either in town or from afar. Participating artists will include Greta Van Campen, Meghan Brady, Bjorn Runquist, Dominique Ostuni, Colin Page, Ken DeWaard, Peter Ralson and many more talented individuals! Our ultimate idea is to alternate years – one year the Camden on Canvas live auction, the next the Art in the Stacks silent auction.
