This special fundraiser runs from #GivingTuesday, Dec. 3, through Christmas by the Sea, Dec. 6-8
The Camden Public Library is marking GivingTuesday, Dec. 3, and Christmas by the Sea, Dec. 6-8, by “Stocking the Stacks.” During this special fundraiser, the library is asking for donation to “Stock the Stacks” with new books and materials for our community. Donors who give $25 or more will also have the option to place a name on a bookplate in honor someone special.
This holiday season, the library is calling on our community to help us bring people together across a lifetime of stories. As part of this effort, we must meet the high demand for new books and relevant materials. Whether in-person, by homebound delivery, or online, community members are checking out about 156,000 items per year! A donation of $25 will support the purchase of one hardcover book. Audiobooks and e-books are also in great need.
“Imagine the holiday stockings of the Camden Public Library filled with new books for all to enjoy. You can make that vision a reality. Donating to bring in new books and materials is a powerful way to support a lifetime of stories for our community members, from avid-reading retirees to the babies who join in Miss Amy’s story-time songs,” said Camden Public Library Executive Director Kristy Kilfoyle. “I invite you to join us in ‘Stocking the Stacks’ with new books in celebration of GivingTuesday and Christmas By The Sea.”
It’s easy to support Stock the Stacks, in-person at the library or on your device from anywhere at librarycamden.org/stockthestacks. Donations can be sent by check, made out to the “Camden Public Library Fund,” to ATTN: Stock the Stacks, Camden Public Library, 55 Main Street, Camden, ME 04843.
GivingTuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Christmas By the Sea, Dec. 6-8, 2024, is the premiere holiday celebration for Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville.
