“BIG TREES of Maine” with Kevin Martin – Midcoast Audubon Nature Series

Thursday, September 19 @ 6:30 pm 7:30 pm

The Mid-Coast Audubon‘s series of nature talks in partnership with Camden Public Library is back for another season! We’ll kick off the program series on Thursday, September 19 at 6:30 PM with a presentation from Kevin Martin all about the BIGGEST TREES you can find in Maine!

Fourth-generation NH native and outdoorsman Kevin Martin will take us vicariously on short hikes, bikes, and paddles to the biggest trees in Maine, complete with great photos, descriptions, maps, directions, measurements, and details on the trees’ interactions with wildlife, people, and their ecosystem. You’ll learn about their history, management, and caretaking.

You don’t want to miss this journey through the woods and into some cities to discover and appreciate these impressive living parts of our landscape!

“Big Trees inspire an unparalleled sense of awe and wonder. Kevin Martin leads us to many of the champions of Northern New England so you can enjoy their majesty yourself, in person, or vicariously through his descriptions and photographs”

-Sara Lourie PhD, Cambridge Vermont Conservation Commission

This is a hybrid event and will take place in person in the Picker Room at the Camden Public Library, as well as on Zoom. To attend virtually, register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_JIh4oXmJTRuwG_Ne7nTT2Q

MID-COAST AUDUBON, SERVING THE MAINE COUNTIES OF KNOX, LINCOLN, AND WALDO

Mid-Coast Audubon is a chapter of Audubon, and affiliated with Maine Audubon. We cover the midcoast inland from Boothbay Harbor, west to Windsor and China, and east along the coast to Bucksport. Our mission is to promote long-term, responsible use of natural resources through informed membership, education and community awareness.

Throughout the year fascinating and informative programs are presented (free!) via the Camden Public Library, and there are numerous field trips to see birds and learn about the natural history of Maine. Come be part of the fun and learning. Check out our events page for dates/times. You can also watch the recorded presentations from earlier programs.
