On Exhibit: “Through a Prism: Paintings by Evgenii Semenikhin”

Sunday, February 2 Saturday, March 1

The Camden Public Library warmly welcomes internationally known artist Evgenii Semenikhin for an exhibit of his paintings titled “Through a Prism” in the Picker Room Gallery during the month of February*. The public is invited to an opening reception on Tuesday, February 4, at 3:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided!

Artist’s Statement

“My fantasy responds only to what I have seen in life, to what I have personally experienced.  Studying landscapes, objects in still life, or models, I discover multiple angles, facets, and planes that, when represented simultaneously on a canvas, provide a springboard to expanded and enriched understanding of the world around us.

The image is thus not the goal but rather a means of revealing meaning.  Canvases live their own lives – they might move in different planes (Winter Landscapes), draw you into their depths (Houses), or, on the contrary, blind you with energy (Still Life with Fish.) I invite all to view the paintings in this exhibit and to join in conversation with them”
