Opening Reception for Exhibit “Works on Paper” with Douglas Smith

The Camden Public Library welcomes Rockland-based artist Douglas Smith for his exhibit “Works on Paper” in the Picker Room Gallery during the month of September. Smith will present a selection of works on paper in various media to include watercolor, pastel, and gouache.

The public is invited to the exhibit’s opening reception to view the works and meet the artist on Saturday, September 7, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Douglas Smith attended the Rocky Mountain School of Art in Denver, CO, and the Lyme Academy of Fine Art, Old Lyme, CT, where he studied portrait painting and received the first Stobart Foundation Scholarship for outdoor painting. Smith moved to Maine in 2004. He has travelled and painted on location in Europe, Mexico, Russia, and Alaska. (He was also a participant in our 2024 Camden on Canvas Plein-Air Weekend!)
