Pack a picnic supper and your own seating to enjoy free live music in the Amphitheatre from “Maine’s favorite Rock, Soul, R&B, and Blues band,” Anni and the Rainmakers! The FREE concert takes place on Tuesday, August 13, at 6:30 p.m. Rain location inside the library.
Renowned for their diverse playlist, Anni and the Rainmakers seamlessly blend original songs with classic rock, soul, blues, and R&B numbers. This eclectic mix sets the stage for unforgettable live experiences and has earned them accolades, such as being voted Waldo County’s Number One Band by The Republican Journal and the Village Soup’s prestigious “Best of the Best” survey three years in a row.
At the forefront of the group is the incredibly talented lead singer, Ann Brindle. With a background that includes Virginia bands After Six, Front Page News, and The Groove, Ann possesses a remarkable vocal range that allows her to deliver exceptional performances, ranging from the powerful tunes of Janis Joplin to the soulful ballads of Whitney Houston.
Supporting Ann’s dynamic vocals is her husband, Barry Brindle, a gifted guitarist who honed his craft in the popular Connecticut group Biggio Sound before being joined by Ann in The Groove. Together, they formed the local favorite acoustic duo, Jonesville, which was also voted as Waldo County’s Number One band, solidifying their status as a leading musical force in the area.
Completing the Rainmakers rhythm section are two talented musicians. Drummer Tim Woitowitz hails from New York City. After relocated to Maine, Tim went on to collaborate with various bands, including Steel Rail Express, Between Dead Stations, Memphis Lightning, and The Juke Rockets. Tim collaborated on The Juke Rockets’ first studio album, “Hungry Soul,” recorded at Sunset House Studios.
Sean Oxton is Anni and the Rainmakers newest member. Sean is a highly skilled bass player who has made a name for himself in the local music scene. Over the years, he has proven his versatility by playing with various bands including SKS, Stonecrew, and The Redneck Ramblers. Oxton’s powerful bass grooves form the foundation of the band’s sound, providing an irresistible rhythm that keeps fans moving and grooving.
