Learn about durable trail design, construction, and maintenance with Camden Hills State Park Trails Supervisor Erik Brooks during this program on Tuesday, July 2 at 6:30 PM in the Picker Room.
If you want to build trails on your property or volunteer with an organization that builds or maintains trails, this is an opportunity to learn principles and techniques for creating enjoyable paths that hold up well against strong storm events and general use. This talk focuses on hand-built trails.
Erik Brooks grew up in Harpswell, Maine where he first assisted with trail maintenance on the local Cliff Trail and with a family friend on the Appalachian Trail. He worked three summers on the White Mountain Professional Trail Crew during college, and has volunteered with organizations such as the Maine Appalachian Trail Club for several years. This is his second season working for CHSP.
