Photo Collection:  The Center’s archives contain more than 1,000 photos of people, places, and historical events. The photo collection is in the process of being digitized. Camden Public Library is proud to be partnering with the innovative project known as The Commons on Flickr to further our educational mission and to increase public access to our collections of images.

Camden Public Library’s images that are part of The Commons on Flickr are marked “no known copyright restrictions,” indicating that CPL is unaware of any copyright restrictions on the works so designated.  Even though we believe the images we have uploaded to The Commons on Flickr are in the “public domain” and thus not subject to copyright restrictions, these photos may be subject to other third party rights, such as rights of privacy and rights of publicity. In all instances, you are required to obtain all necessary permissions before using our photos. For example, if you find a photo from CPL’s collections that includes a person, you would be responsible for obtaining the permission of the person in the photo before you use the photo.   The Camden Public Library cannot be responsible for any use of these images, or any liability resulting from their use. The Library is interested in learning about any possible copyright restrictions and will gladly remove any image that is in violation.

In general, the photos in our collections are meant to be used for personal, educational or research purposes and should be credited as “Courtesy of Camden Public Library.”   It is CPL’s policy to charge scaled reproduction fees to obtain a high resolution file for commercial use. These fees help fund our continued efforts to care for our collections. Scans of prints are available starting at $10 for images already scanned, Scans are only available for images for which there are no copyright issues.
